The 'X-Stage' was a little more tricky. You have to include the 'Y-stage' to make it happen. As luck would have it, we had to cut down the 5mm bolt as suggested in the manual. I didn't quite understand where the clearance issue was, until the whole thing was together, and then had to take part of it back apart. Since I'm in a computer lab, finding a way to cut the bolt was even more tricky. Luckily, I also have a robotics program, so I happened to have a metal hacksaw, and a c-clamp. So, using a nut, I was able to clamp the bolt between the head of the screw and the nut and cut the minimum 5mm from the end. A little emery cloth and a wrench and the end threads were useable, and everything was good.
